# Get started

## 1. Sign Up

Go to <https://app.understand.tech/login> and click on **Create an account**. Create your free account using your Google, GitHub, or email. After clicking **Create my Account**, make sure to **confirm your email address** in your inbox.

## 2. Sign In

After creating your account, log in with your email, Google, or GitHub, and click **Connect** to continue.

## 3. Homepage overview 'AI platform'

When you first log in, the **homepage** provides a central hub to access to the administration portal where you can govern everything, from all apps, data sources and more.

### **3.1** Navigating Your Workspace

The left sidebar is your home base in Understand Tech. It's organized into three sections that map to the lifecycle of building enterprise AI: **Compose** what you need, **Connect** it to your data and systems, and **Govern** how it runs.

### Compose

Where you build and access your AI applications.

[**Apps**:](broken://pages/jsYt8zDFcQwmXVpQgfNm) Your collection of AI applications, whether pre-built ones or apps you've created from scratch. Open an existing app, or use **+ New App** to start a new one.

[**Workflows**:](/documentation/english-version/platform/workflows.md) Multi-step automations that chain prompts, tools, and logic together. Use Workflows when a single app isn't enough and you need orchestration across several steps.

[**Developer**: ](/documentation/english-version/platform/developer.md)Developer-facing tools, including API access, SDKs, and resources for embedding Understand Tech into your own systems.

### Connect

Where you bring your enterprise context into the platform.

[**Knowledge Base**:](/documentation/english-version/platform/knowledge-base.md) The documents and content your apps can search and reference. Upload, organize, and manage the corpora your assistants draw from.

[**Data Sources**:](/documentation/english-version/platform/data-sources.md) Live connections to external systems and databases. Use this when your apps need data that updates beyond a static document.

Where administrators manage access, security, and platform usage.
