chart-line-upOpportunities

The Opportunities module is a built-in sales pipeline tool designed for distributors and technical sales teams. It lets you track deals, connect portal activity to specific prospects, and understand how your customers are engaging with your product knowledge.

Overview

With Opportunities, you can:

  • Track deals through a configurable pipeline of stages

  • Link portal chat sessions and product research activity to specific opportunities

  • Monitor engagement metrics per deal

  • See a maturity score that signals how active and engaged a prospect is

  • Receive a weekly email report summarizing your pipeline

Setting Up Your Pipeline

Pipeline Stages

The pipeline comes with a default set of stages: New Lead, Contacted, Qualified, Proposal, Negotiation, Closed Won, and Closed Lost. You can customize these to match your actual sales process.

To manage your stages:

  1. Go to Opportunities > Pipeline Settings.

  2. In the stage editor, add new stages, rename existing ones, drag to reorder them, or delete stages you do not use.

  3. Save.

If you delete a stage, the opportunities currently in that stage are not deleted, they will have an unassigned stage and should be moved to a new stage manually.

Custom Fields

If you need to capture deal-specific information beyond the defaults, you can add custom fields to the opportunity form:

  1. Go to Opportunities > Pipeline Settings > Custom Fields.

  2. Click Add Field.

  3. Give the field a name, a label to display in the form, and a field type (text, number, date, yes/no toggle, or dropdown list).

  4. Save.

Custom fields appear on every opportunity's detail form and are included in exports and reports.

Weekly Pipeline Report

DistiForge automatically sends a Weekly Pipeline Report by email to anyone you designate, if the box is checked (Settings).

The report includes:

  • A summary of your pipeline by stage - how many deals and their total value

  • New opportunities created in the past week

  • Deals that moved stages (advanced or fell back)

  • Your top opportunities ranked by maturity score

  • Overall portal engagement highlights

Setting Up Report Recipients

  1. Go to Opportunities > Pipeline Settings > Reports.

  2. Add the email addresses of people who should receive the report.

  3. Choose the delivery day and time that works for your team.

  4. Save.

Reports arrive as emails with a summary and a link to your full pipeline in the admin console.
